BACK STORY: Field Notes' idea for the Spring 2023 Quarterly Limited Edition revolved around urban architecture and the juxtaposition of new and old styles in large American cities, as well as making a proper sketch book with top-quality body paper.
They teamed up with Steve McDonald, an artist known for his series of best-selling adult coloring books that depict real-life and imaginary city scenes; selected four American cities; and tested a variety of media on several paper stocks. The result is "Streetscapes."
