socius design was founded in Rochester, Minnesota, as a studio and shop built intentionally around the user experience. Merging backgrounds in fine art, psychology, and general contracting, the studio approaches spatial design and curation through a deeply human lens that also fundamentally prioritizes quality and function.

Within this framework, daily rituals—such as the execution of an exceptional espresso, the way a pencil writes on a page, or how a light becomes warmer when dimmed—are treated as essential, interactive experiences requiring high-performance tools. We have sought to become a resource for such goods, curating items that find the sweet spot of aesthetics and usability.

But the only way you know if something works is to use it. This is why we intentionally designed our showroom and shop as a gathering space in which guests are invited and encouraged to touch, learn, interact with, and experience.
