Lift the soap off the counter. Yamazaki's Veil tray is a small clear acrylic shelf with a sloped base and a spout at one end: set it at the edge of the sink and the soapy water runs straight back into the basin instead of pooling under the bar. Rubber feet keep it from sliding. Works just as well for a kitchen sponge, or flipped over as a tumbler stand by the bathroom tap.
